Excellent Spring Kit (21-11-2009)

Yet another fine set of springs.

Installed in my K-Frames during regular action tuning / polishing.

With combined polishing of key components, these springs helped both the K38's and the K22's achieve excellent action smoothness as well as 'safe' light-pull single-action and consistent double-action pull weights. Single Action pull was aprox. 2 lbs, double action pull was about 6 1/2lbs. (NOTE: your K38's may need Winchester or Federal primers for DA work as CCI primer cups may be too strong for the reduced DA spring tension).

Does the job, but... (29-12-2009)

Improves and lightens pull, but... the mainspring doesn't have enough power to consistently fire off anything but sensitive (ie, Federal) primers. Using Remington and Winchester primers, the rounds would only go off about 80% of the time fired double action... probably 95% of the time fired single action. I even had a couple Federals that failed to fire. This wasn't a big deal in the days when you could pick and choose your brand of primers, but that's not possible anymore, at least in my neck of the woods. I've switched back to the stock mainspring for reliability reasons, even for a target gun.

Works for a K-22 (11-11-2011)

I went with the 12 lb. rebound spring. It's too light for fast shooting, so I might bump it up to the next size. Went in perfectly.

Works fine..lasts a long time! (25-03-2012)

I use this S&W model 19 for target shooting and home protection, therefore I needed to lighten the trigger pull for the spouse. Before the kit I had an 11.0 lb. D.A. pull and a 5.0 lb. S.A. pull. After the kit (and .003 shim kit) It went to a consistant 8.0 pull D.A. and a 3.0 S.A. pull. More like the Detective Spcl. we have.
No problem firing the CCI 500 primers that I use.
The main spring tension screw was all the way in to the stop also.

Works as advertised (21-12-2014)

I purchased the kit for a 2014 S&W 686. I installed the main spring and the 14lb trigger return and had no issues. I then swapped the 14lb for the 13lb. I detect a slight difference in return but I can't out run it. I shot 5 different brands, .38 and .357 without a single issue. After install, the trigger is under 8lbs double action and a dream to shoot.

Big improvement, no problems (01-05-2017)

Installation was quick and simple in my 686+.

I installed the 14# spring. The double action pull is much easier and smoother.

Fired PMC Bronze and Federal Premium, in 38+p and 357. I had no issues with light strikes.
