BRAK OTWARTEGO OŁOWIU: Osłona z metalu pozłacanego chroni czubek pocisku, dzięki czemu pusta przestrzeń działa prawidłowo przy uderzeniu i zapewnia odpowiednie podawanie w półautomatach. ODLEWANY RDZEŃ: Całkowita jednorodność gęstości rdzenia zapewnia zrównoważone rozwijanie oraz stabilność w locie. WYTŁACZANA OSŁONA Z METALU POZŁACANEGO: Kontrola rozwijania jest osiągana poprzez zmianę grubości osłony wzdłuż długości XTP®, co daje zdecydowaną przewagę nad pociskami platerowanymi, które mają jednolitą grubość osłony na całej długości pocisku. KANALURA: W pociskach rewolwerowych kanalura pomaga osiągnąć dokładne, spójne zwijanie. Wszystkie kanalury są aplikowane przed ostatnim procesem formowania, aby wyeliminować wszelkie zniekształcenia gotowego pocisku.

Designed for hunting, self-defense and law enforcement applications, the XTP® bullet demonstrates the kind of accuracy that led many competitive shooters to adopt it. Reliable performance makes the XTP® the most popular handgun bullet for both target shooters and hunters. But it's the stopping power of the XTP® bullet that has truly built its world-class reputation. From the onset, XTP® bullets were specifically designed to expand reliably at a wide range of handgun velocities to deliver deep penetration with every shot. FEATURES CONTROLLED EXPANSION: Precise serrations divide the XTP® into symmetrical sections, strategically weakening the jacket and initiating controlled expansion even at low velocities. NO EXPOSED LEAD: The gilding metal jacket protects the nose of the bullet, so the hollow cavity functions properly on impact and ensures proper feeding in semi-automatics. SWAGED CORE: Total uniformity of core density ensures balanced expansion as well as in-flight stability. DRAWN GILDING METAL JACKET: Expansion is controlled by varying jacket thickness down the length of the XTP®, providing a definite advantage over plated bullets which have a uniform jacket thickness over the entire bullet. CANNELURE: On revolver bullets, the cannelure helps achieve accurate, consistent crimping. All cannelures are applied before the final forming process to eliminate any distortion to the finished bullet.

Great muzzleloader hunting bullet(15-10-2017)
Have been using these Hornady bullets in my NEF Sidekick cal .50 for the past 10-15 years. Two pellets of Triple Seven punching this bullet at around 1800 fps - whitetail don't have a chance to get away. Chest shots create massive damage to heart, lungs; neck shot drops deer where they stand.
Great Bullet(29-08-2012)
This is a great round. I bought these to shoot my S&W 41 magnum for the first time. I assembled the ammo from brand new brass and these bullets. The ammo shot great and I attained great groups. It's a large jacketed hollow point. Good stuff for self/home defense or hunting if need be.
This was also my first time reloading anything at all and these rounds were easy to do.
I used the Lyman's 49th reloading manual for specs on the reloading and brand new Starline brass (also bought from Brownells), 17.5 grains of Alliant 2400 powder and Winchester large pistol primers (in case your wondering).
Best Jacketed Hollow Point(17-06-2012)
At 905 fps, these bullets expand and penetrate well, forming beautiful mushrooms. At 1,378 fps, they penetrate deep and still hold together with good weight retention.
Consistency(25-08-2014)
As a shooter, reloader, and someone that carries for self defense consistency is the most important thing in a Bullet. With these Hornady XTP bullets you get all the performance of a high quality bullet and the consistency of weight between each bullet as well as the consistency of performance.
Bullseye competion(16-11-2017)
CMP allowed the use of 185Gr in lieu of the 230Gr for completion. I have been shooting the Hornady 185 for 2-yrs now and found them to be a good choice. Using a light load than factory, the round still feeds well in the Colt, Springfield and Less Bear.
Excellent accuracy and penetration(03-02-2013)
12.0 gr of 2400 with this bullet in my Marlin 1894 Cowboy Limited shoots 3/4" to 1" groups at 50 yds. If I had better sights, and eyes, than stock I have no doubt they would do better. All hunts have ended with 1 shot complete pass through, even quartering on large deer.
good bullets(02-08-2010)
these are excellent bullets and usually weigh within .oo5 of advertised.. (put how many we get for that price in the add)
Tough bullet.Doesn't fragment.(19-12-2013)
Shoot this bullet for a TC Contender with a 10" barrel in 357 maximum. Shoots accurately 3 inch groups 100 yds. Doesn't fragment on deer sized game. The bulk Winchester and Remington 158 gr hp both fragment on deer. The deer is dead anyhow but the Hornady passes through or stays in one piece neatly mushroomed. The Hornady bullet crimps better with a hard crimp. Seems like the bullet jacket is thicker to be able to hold the crimp better. Not saying that there isn't a better bullet but this is the best I have used for the price.
Excellent Bullet(10-12-2013)
The FIRST thing I did after receiving my shipment was; I placed each individual bullet on a scale and noted the difference in actual bullet weight. I was amazed to find that the difference was <+- 2% (Most bullets were exactly 158 Grains! The HEAVIEST weighed in @ 162 Gr. the LIGHTEST weighed 155 Gr.) Since I use these mainly for defense, (On Duty Rds.),I find these bullets an Excellent choice!
Quality Component(13-09-2015)
Always had great luck with Hornady components.
Good plinking bullets(25-05-2016)
Great plinking bullets for a 38 SPC. My wife shoots 50 to 100 when we go to the range. My daughter will start shooting these in the future.
Awesome...(05-03-2011)
I use this in my S&W 4" model. Love it. Expansion is decent enough, but it remains in tact all the way through, and creates the perfect mushroom. I have yet to find a slug that has come apart to date, all remain in tact and do the job just fine. I will continue to have this as a hunting/self defense round in my weapons.
Great bullet(15-01-2014)
This is a great bullet. I push them at 1400+ out of my 6" Model 28 (Max load of H110) and they are accurate and hold together well on testing. In 10% gel they penetrated 16.2" and opened up well, don't remember the measurement.
Accurate(01-02-2014)
I loaded these with 5grs. of W231 in 38 spcl. for my sister to practice with. They were very accurate.
.45 CAL., 200 GR. HORNADY HP/XTP #45140(03-06-2017)
I reload these bullets for several friends, who always thought "heavier is better", velocity gets squared, mass (weight) is linear. Pistol bullets aren't shot at yardages where the heavier bullet is ballistically better.
been using for 20 years(16-01-2011)
been loading for rifle and pistol for deer. I use 16.5 grs. HS-6.have not lost a deer yet.very accurate
good bullet for my dan(20-03-2014)
expansion on a Texas whitetail, was a clear pass thru wound channel was nice a large,, buying from Brownells was fast, thanks for the quick turn around ..rh valdez
Accurate (14-09-2017)
Loaded these for my 5.5" Redhawk, 25yds 4 shots in 1" fifth was a old eye flyer brought the group to 2", over 11.5 grs of Unique Federal mag primers Starline brass. Nice.
Very accurate bullet from my savage ML 10 muzzleloader.3rds usually touching at 100 yds.I was able to take a nice 8 point buck at 204 yds this muzzleloading season.I was amazed at how big the exit hole was for this range. The only bullet I will ever shoot through my muzzleloader again.
