misleading description(17-02-2010)
Note! This is ONE pair of screws and a set of locking screws, not two pair.
A perfect fit(24-11-2010)
Admittedly, it's difficult to get excited about a tang screw, but this does exactly what it's supposed to do. I have an 03A3 with an "S" (scant) stock from the CMP, and it came with a standard rear tang screw. It only engaged for a few threads and came loose after every few shots. The Forster screw is a perfect fit and fixes the problem.
1903A3 Trigger Gurad Screws(18-08-2011)
The extra long tang screw worked perfect in both my 03A3 rifles. As the previous reviewer stated the extra 1/4" of length puts 7 to 8 screw threads into the rear receiver hole. The original 1903 screw only used two threads.
Awesome Product(08-11-2014)
Awesome product to use and cost a lot less than manufacturing ypur own
Too short(27-08-2017)
The screw length on these is very short. about 1/8" too short. The rear screw only engages about half a diameter or about 1/8". On the other hand the front screw head is so tall that even on a new lower steel it sticks out about 1/16". The slots are too narrow and too shallow. This means that a crewdriver must be ground very thin to fit and also risk of blade slip is very high. in the picture you will see a OE mil screw (long) and the product in question (short). The bases of the screwheads are lined up. These are lousy but also unfortunately the only game in town unless you use old Mil screws.
bad fit(08-11-2011)
These screws looked great in the package but are not the correct ones for a winchester model 70 ranger 30-06. One screw is not a tapered head screw and the other long one is just that to long. I tried to switch placement thinking that was the issue but was not. I think that the description needs to exclude the ranger as these clearly do not work.
