Finally!!!!!!!!!!(13-02-2010)
No longer shall the .45 shooters reap the benefit of the Wilson mags. Now that the 10mm Auto is somewhat back in vogue, Delta's, Kimber's and Dan Wesson 1911 have a superior feed source.
Not as Great as the Wilson Combat Name!(18-05-2011)
Plastic followers stick. I had multiple FTF in both my DW 1911 10mm's with these magazines. Spraying with silicone helped some. Very disappointed in these magazines, especially given Wilson Combat's reputation for top-notch quality.
Great magazine but(07-07-2011)
As expected flawless operation is all 4 of my 1911 based 10mm pistols. However all of my Wilson 47D 45ACP magazines have worked just as well with 10mm some are as old as 25 or 26 years old still bearing the name "Wilson-Rodgers" on the base plate and some are only 5 years old. So why spend the extra money?
Works great for .40 S&W too...(09-08-2011)
I use these mags in my .40 S&W Fusion Kit gun and they work great. I have had no issues and I am hard on them.
Nice Magazine(28-03-2012)
- I purchased 4 of these and they all work perfectly in my Colt Double Eagle. - Zero malfunctions. - Easy to load. - The follower was a bit stiff for the first couple of uses but still zero malfunctions and they became very slick with use. - I did not have to lubricate the follower or mag body. - I've only fired approximately 200 rounds through each of these magazines but so far they are perfect. - The nine round capacity in a magazine that is the same length as my factory 8 rounders is a bonus.
Disappointed(06-04-2012)
Been using Wilson .45 mags for years and consider them the best. Bought three of these for my Nighthawk GRP; would not feed 5 kinds of factory ammo, two of the followers would consistently stick. Very disappointed.
A rare POOR Wilson product(04-11-2012)
A first for me: a Wilson magazine that I must rate very poor:
1) Cannot insert/seat a full mag in Gun (DW RZ-10) if the slide is closed (no, leaving it fully loaded for a week or so does NOT solve this!). 2) Magazine self ejects during firing (this never happens with any of the other brands of magazines I use in this gun: Tripp, Mec-Gar, Metalform, Shooting Star). 3) Does not allow the slide to lock back (either during shooting or if slide pulled back w/empty mag in place). 4) Far more 'jams' (feed failure) than with any of the above mentioned magazine.
Thank goodness for Brownell's great return policy!
Excellent service and merchandise(13-02-2013)
Just received my order of Wilson 47NX magazines. Excellent service ,excellent merchandise and excellent prices...as usual.
Comments about WILSON COMBAT 47NX WILSON(06-08-2013)
I bought this magazine as an extra for my 10mm 1911. I have used several of the Wilson 1911 magazine for my 9mm with no problems. However not that good of luck for the 10mm version. The follower sticks and will not feed the last 2 rounds. Even with the magazine empty if you push the follower down it sticks. I took the magazine apart and cleaned it and lubed it to see if this would help with no luck. Eventually I took the dremel tool with flitz polish and polished the follower. So far so good after polishing it. For the name and money that I paid for the magazine not very impressed. I will go back to buying the metal form magazines for my 10mm never had a problem with them.
WILSON 47NX 10mm Mags(02-10-2013)
Good magazines. I would rate these as typical Wilson 47D mags, but for the 10mm caliber.
These function perfect in a finicky Kimber 10mm. Strong mag springs, and positive slide lock on empty. No malfunctions at all using several different 47NX mags.
The only issue I can see is the mags are rated to hold 9 rounds, but will not insert when fully loaded on a closed slide. Downloaded to 8 rounds, they lock inplace. This may just be an issue with the Kimber 10mm.
Cheap Construction(02-12-2013)
Only holds 8 rounds, not 9. Follower gets jammed in the mag body with 2-3 rounds left in the mag. Very cheap construction when compared to a Kimber mag or Mec-Gar mag.
Disappointed(31-05-2014)
Rock Island 10mm 4.25" barrel, these mags were nothing but hard, 3 point jams and inertia feeding. The OE Metalform works 100%. I tried everything to make them work, Wolff +10% springs, thorough inspection of the gun, etc.., Had to return these to Brownells.
Feed jams in Rock Island Commander 4.25"(25-12-2014)
Follower sticks and feed jams occurred most of the time, occasionally would not lock back slide.
do not buy(28-12-2014)
Brand new and does not work. Several problems.
advertized to hold 9 rounds but will not seat in the pistol with 9 rounds.
follower is sticky and does not feed smoothly sometimes causeing the top round to sit at wrond angle.
follower is made of plastic and the slide stop notch wore out at the contact location within 50 rounds of use. After this, the follower will no longer engage the slide stop to lock the slide back and actually pushed the slide stop outward causing malfunction.
With Wilson's reputation in 1911 pistols its dissapointing to invest in a premium magazine that fails so badly. Do not buy this magazine.
Still no good(23-10-2015)
Gun tested in: Rock Island FS 10mm
Iâve been using Wilson 45acp mags for a long time for competition and EDC, these 10mm mags on the other handâ¦very disappointing.
First, the mag bodies feel rather flimsy, like they never received a proper heat treatment.
Second, the follower was .012 wider than the ID of the mag body.
After loading 2 rounds the follower jammed inside the mag body. The rounds fell out but the follower stuck fast and required disassembly to clear it.
I followed Nates advice and sanded the follower down and polished it with Flitz.
Third, the follower is very soft, pliable, plastic.
I did get it to work. It does hold 9 rounds and if you slam it hard enough, it will seat with the slide closed. It has fed every ammo I tried from cast lead to XTPs. The follower gave up after a few times and no longer locks the slide back. (no surprise)
I will keep it and delegate it for range use only.
