The Daniel Defense Omega Rail system is the most exciting rail system to hit the market in years! The Omega Rail is a free float rail system that allows the individual operator to easily install it with the provided Allen Wrench and requires ZERO modification to the weapon! The Omega Rail features an integral QD sling swivel mount, with rotation limiter, and an uninterrupted upper rail platform. This light weight rail system is meticulously CNC machined from Aircraft Grade Aluminum and is Military Specification Type III Hard Coat Anodized. All the Omega Rail fasteners are military specification. The Omega Rail 7.0 is designed to work with carbine-length AR-15 gas systems and its exceptionally light weight makes it perfect for short rifles where size and weight are crucial performance attributes.

For the money it's OK 06-06-2018
This handguard is machined well, and installs easily, with a tight lock up to the mil-spec barrel nut. My only complaint is that there are no heatshields on this handguard. After a long session at the range, the handguard got so hot I had trouble holding onto the rifle comfortably. If you buy this item, make sure you have a good set of shooting gloves, or your range sessions will need to be kept short. I'm going to replace this with a Knight's RAS. It may not have the cool factor of being free floated, but the RAS has heat shields from the factory, and has the same amount of usable rail space.

Daniel Defense Omega Rail System 08-02-2017
I was able to install the Omega Rail in less than 15 minutes on my Bushmaster carbine. There were no fit or finish issues and it was solid at both the front and rear of the rail. My Magpul MBUS front sight attached perfectly to the front and is solid with no play what so ever. This is an outstanding product for the price!

I just installed one of these on my AR and I must say I love it. I like that it's free floated and requires absolutely zero modifications to your base rifle. I did it on my couch as I live in a studio apartment and have no workspace to mount a vice to and I was able to get it perfectly aligned with my upper receiver. If you're looking for the easiest free float and like a rail get this. Oh did I mention this is lightweight? I didn't notice any weight increase over the standard carbine handguards. It's also a DD so you know it's going to be tough. The only bad thing about it is the cost, which you can't really complain about because it's a brand known for toughness and is easily offset because you don't have to pay a gunsmith to do it for you.

Was told before buying a caveman could put this hand guard on. Although I could not find or purchase a caveman anywhere online or in stores I tried to put it on myself and had success within 10 min. Great product, solid, looks great, just what I was looking for.

When I first started installing the Omega Rail, I thought there is no way is this thing going to be solid. Was I ever wrong. It is solid as a rock. I absolutely love it. Very easy to install too.

Upgraded to the Omega from the EZ Car rail that came on my Daniel Defense rifle because I wanted QD attachments.
Rail was simple to install. It's slightly more narrow than the EZ Car. Another quality product from Daniel Defense.

Not sure you need another review but this is a nice product. I am pretty handy but also inexperienced with ARs. I did not want to remove my gas block and barrel nut for a free float job. I also don't have much in the way of AR tools. This one took me ten minutes and fit perfectly.

I was in the process of updating my now "retired" Bushmaster. After much thought and discussion with friends in the industry I opted for this rail and I have never looked back. If you can remove your original handguards you can install this one no problem. Contact DD and have them email you a copy of the instructions if you fear it's too much, it's not and you won't regret it at all.

This rail is amazingly simple to install. Despite the simplicity of the install, it is rock-solid. There is absolutely no play in the rail. This gives the advantages of a free-float barrell without the complexity of going to a smith to get it done. This is easily accomplished by the average user who possesses the ability to take off and replace the handguards.

This is an excellent product. Very install with rock solid results on my carbine length Bushmaster AR. Using a vertical forearm grip and still no movement. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone with a delta ring setup.
