All the whiz & lots of bang for the buck(12-10-2013)
I like the idea of being able to regulate the gas pressure. Great looking and nice low profile. Would not hesitate to recommend this item in particular and Brownells in general for easy shopping and very fast shipping. Thanks Brownells for the good work. Keep it up! Another satisfied repeat customer!
Fine(23-12-2013)
Have just installed and didn't find a gas tube pin enclosed. There was no separate packaging for pin so if it was in there it would easily be lost when opening package. NOTE as stated, this is STEEL, not Aluminum.
Good price, but poor set screw placement(31-01-2014)
Good price for an ajustable gas block that allows you to lock-in your gas setting without loc-tite, but I'm disappointed with this design. The brass set screw used to lock-in the gas adjustment screw faces rearward (towards the handgaurd), not towards the muzzle. On my rifle length barrel with 12" handguard, the brass screw is inaccessible once installed. Since I can't know how far to dial-in the gas control set screw prior to installation, (and since the whole reason I bought it was to be able to adjust and/or turn off the gas on my rifle for developing hand loads,) I am concerned that the tension offered by the brass set screw will lessen with multiple adjustments of the gas adjustment screw. And, at that point I will be unable to retighten the brass screw (as the instructions say to do), because I can't get at it. It's half the price of similar units, and seems like it's good quality, so I'll give it a shot and keep my fingers crossed. Also, not a big deal, but I found that the asymetrical design (one concave side) makes it a little difficult to visually center the gas tube during installation.
NOT adjustable from the front.(11-08-2015)
Works out of the box. Straight-forward installation/assembly using standard pin (not included - at least not in my package), used a Spike's mid-length gas tube and Daniel Defense lightweight 9.00" rail III. However. You can NOT adjust the gas regulator with the rail installed. This isn't apparent at first if you're just plowing along assembling a gun, nor is it clear in the description from Seekins. So, assembled, you can't access the socket-head screw to adjust the flow but you CAN lock it down with the brass set-screw. Ideally, you'd THINK anyone building these would know it's easier, more direct to access the regulator from the FRONT. Now if you are building a gun with a couple of inches of gas tube exposed, or care to take a dremel tool to your rail you can reach the adjustment screw no problem. But mine? Look for it coming to an auction site near you.
Works great if you install it correctly.(16-09-2016)
A couple of the other reviews concerned me about this block. No need for concern if it installed correctly, with the locking screw toward the muzzle. You really can't install the gas tube any other way, but it sounds like some users didn't! After talking with the manufacturer, it was clear that some users didn't know what they were doing. Installing in reverse won't work the action because the gas port in the tube is not even enclosed! Mine worked great and would recommend it to all wanting an adjustable block at a reasonable price.
The Locking Screw(12-01-2017)
The picture shows the old model with the locking screw in the rear. The new ones have the locking screw in the front which makes it much easier to access. As far as the function of the gas block, it works as you'd expect. Only time will tell if it's reliable long term.
Best adjustable gas block for the money(31-01-2018)
Very easy to install. I have this on my first AR build with a suppressor and runs great. For anyone wondering as I was, this does fit under a KMR.
