KG-12 Copper Remover(11-03-2010)
Bought some for my Ruger M77 in 7mm mag which had begun to show streaks of copper in the grooves. In 15 minutes, using only a patch wetted with KG-12, ALL the copper was gone. Highly recommend.
really works !(19-03-2010)
It is hard to believe that this product works so well in removing the copper fouling, since it doesn't have any ammonia (no smell), no acid (no bore etching), and is water based so you don't have to worry about neutralizing it after you use it. Just coat the bore with a light coat of gun oil after cleaning, which you would do for storage anyway. I followed the directions on the bottle, and used it on my 30/06 and .340 Wby Mag. It really removed all traces of copper fouling (I had been firing Barnes Tipped TSX Bullets in both). It only took 20 minutes to clean each rifle, and did not stink up the house like I did when I used foul smelling ammonia based solvents. In the past, I have used Hoppes Bench Rest, Shooter's Choice, Sweets 7.62, Barnes CR-10, and Butch's bore shine, and none have cleaned the bore as quickly and as easily as the KG 12 Big Bore Cleaner, and you don't have the negatives of the foul smell or worry about leaving the solvent in too long and ruining (etching) the bore of your rifle.
This stuff trips the trigger!(16-10-2010)
I have been a die-hard fan of ammonia based cleaning solvents for years. However it is time consuming, and requires special attention when using, as most "gunnies" already know. Never been a big fan of jump on the next band-wagon; but I thought I would give this a try; you won't be disappointed. Clean quickly, and effectively without the worries.
This will solve your copper problem(12-11-2010)
I use KG-12 to wipe out copper fouling in all of my rifles. It is so easy to use and there are no blue or green patches to deal with. This stuff just changes the rules on getting rid of copper IMO. I am relatively new to the shooting sports and my second rifle was a CMP M1 Garand. I purchased a lot of CMP HXP 30.06' ammo for the M1. I quickly found out that this HXP ammo leaves copious amounts of copper fouling in my M1 barrel. KG-12 gets all of it out...period. I dont use abrasives or ammonia containing chemicals...this is the modern, easy way to wipe out copper.

So you have tried all the others, Give this a shot, I've used the rest, if you can find something better please post.
I like to use the chamber plug and let the K1,K12 and Kroil soak for 24 hours per product. Wipe some patches through and it's a brand new barrel.
Brake, no problem go to the hardware store and get some clear tubing, if you have a smaller cal. you might want to make friends with a Doctor or Nurse, An IV tube will take care of the smaller calibers. Tubing takes care of getting the juice in the barrel.
After your finished take an air gun or compressed can of air and blow out the brake.
Carry it to the range with you and run a patch through every couple of shots and you will think you have a new gun.
Great Product(20-08-2011)
Was a Die-Hard Sweets-7.62 fan; but after trying this; I'm sold on it. Works as well as 7.62, not the danger of harsh cahems on barrel, and cleans up quickly.
Very interesting bore cleaner(03-11-2011)
Like others reviewers stated "It goes against what we are used to"
It works but give it time.(16-03-2012)
If you want to check how fast this product works put some on a q tip shine a strong flashlight in the muzzle and work the q tip on the copper streaks that you can see. You will notice them slowly dissapearing. Stuborn copper will require reloading the q tip with K-12. It is a safe way to get rid of the stubborn copper near the muzzle. I love the fact that it doesn't stink and is safe on the barrel.
My main complaint is that you can't really tell if you got all the copper out by looking at the patch color like with Sweets. I have a luxury of a bore scope that tells me the truth,
Excellent Copper Remover(22-05-2014)
I've got an M1 Garand with an original military barrel that had thick, visible copper streaks on the lands. I spent several days of soaking and scrubbing with a commonly available solvent, and nothing would touch the heavy streaks. Patches still came out deep blue. Based on the great reviews, I decided to order a bottle of this and try it. I soaked a couple patches and pushed them back and forth through the barrel for a few minutes per the directions. I swabbed it out and looked down the bore, and where there were once streaks of copper there was now bare metal. It is misleading because this product didn't turn the patches blue like other copper solvents, but it sure did an unbelievable job getting it out of the bore.
Fast and incredibly thorough(06-07-2014)
Several years ago I purchased a quart of this as well as several other KG products directly from KG as I could not find it elsewhere.
Having used it while in the Marine Corps, I noticed that the KG products were used exclusively by the armorers and those cleaning the barrels of the big guns, therefore asked about it. To state that they were enthusiastic about the KG products would be an understatement. They gave me some and I tried them myself. Incredible! No more need for wire brushing or scrubbing, no more stench, no more worries about etching a barrel due to interruptions. Just perfect performance, every time.
While I was very happy with this stuff, my wife was far happier yet because of no mess or smell.
Great copper cleaner(05-08-2017)
I've used this product for removing copper from my various bolt guns. I tried numerous copper-removing products, inducing some that include ammonia. This is by far the best on the market today. It works without any significant efforts by the individual, other then patching it into a barrel. then wait 10-15 minutes and you are done. If the copper is super thick you might need to do this coat/wait process a second time. I've never needed to do more then that. I patch the barrel dry when I'm done (coat as you normally might for storage). No ammonia, so its safe on your barrel if you forget it in the barrel for long periods of time.
